Welcome to
Streeterville began in the late 1800s, when “Cap” George Streeter and his second wife, Maria, arrived in Chicago. When Streeter's boat became aground on a sandbar in Lake Michigan due to a storm in 1886, he decided to claim the sandbar and the surrounding land as his own.
Streeterville is in close proximity to some of Chicago's best shopping and restaurants. The Museum of Contemporary Art, renowned research hospitals, elegant hotels, and several of Chicago's tallest skyscrapers, notably the John Hancock Center with its Signature Room on the 95th floor, are all located in the neighborhood. Residents of Streeterville also have quick access to Michigan Avenue, Oak Street, and Rush Street. With Chicago's 18-mile Lakefront Trail, Oak Street Beach, and the urban 6-acre Lake Shore Park just across Lake Shore Drive, recreational opportunities abound.
