It’s 2025 and I’m genuinely excited to share some news that’s bringing fresh energy to Chicago’s luxury real estate market. Recently, I was featured in Crain’s Chicago Business to comment on some of the sales at the St. Regis, as I was privileged to work with one of the buyers.
While I’m honored to be quoted in such a respected publication, it wouldn’t feel right without giving you the bigger picture. The story is far more layered, with so much depth and nuance to unpack. Let’s talk about what’s really happening in Chicago’s luxury market and why the St. Regis is leading the charge.

What Crain’s Didn’t Cover: The St. Regis Advantage
While I’m grateful to have shared some insights with Crain’s Chicago Business, there’s a deeper story to tell about the St. Regis Chicago—and why it’s such a monumental addition to our city.
This isn’t just another "luxury highrise"; it’s now a landmark that redefines what’s possible in architectural design and urban living. The St. Regis has set a new benchmark, bringing an unprecedented level of sophistication, luxury, and service to Chicago’s residential market. From its cutting-edge wind-resistance engineering to its seamless blend of art, architecture, and lifestyle, the development solidifies Chicago’s reputation as a city of innovation and world-class design.
As Chicagoans, we’re fortunate to have a St. Regis-branded residence here. It’s been more than a decade since the city saw a branded luxury residence—the Ritz-Carlton Residences at 118 E. Erie.
Miru: The Talk of the Town
One of the highlights of the St. Regis is Miru — a restaurant that’s quickly become one of the city’s most talked-about spots. The atmosphere is lively, the ambiance is inviting, and here’s something you might not know: Miru is part of the Lettuce Entertain You family, though its unique vibe feels entirely its own.
Picture this: you live there, and suddenly, you're hit with a craving for Bluefin Tuna and a plate of Crispy Spring Rolls. What do you do? You pick up the phone, call the restaurant, they plate it and deliver it right to your room.
Not just another boring glass box cluttering the skyline
Let’s call it like it is: the St. Regis isn’t just another glass box with no creativity. Jeanne Gang and her team at Studio Gang Architects have crafted a masterpiece that’s as stunning on the inside as it is on the outside. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill high-rise; it’s a property that redefines luxury living in Chicago with its world-class amenities, cutting-edge design, and meticulous attention to detail. The St. Regis has set a new gold standard.
2025 is Off to a Hot Start
In the first nine days of the year, six luxury sales over $4 million have already closed—double what we saw at this time last year. And get this, three of those sales were at the St. Regis in just two days. One of these was a spectacular 60th-floor residence that sold for $4.34 million. I had the pleasure of representing the buyer in this transaction, and here’s what I told Crain’s: “Multimillion-dollar buyers are actively exploring the city and the St. Regis. They’re making a statement of confidence by investing here.” Here’s what that tells me: Chicago’s luxury market is alive and thriving.
Why It Matters
While our market has seen its fair share of challenges, the recent success of the St. Regis is a clear signal that Chicago’s luxury real estate sector is regaining its stride. This isn’t a fleeting moment—it’s part of a larger, promising trend. Buyers choosing properties like the St. Regis are making a confident statement about Chicago’s future—a future that's worth investing in.
