When we closed on Sutton Place last week nearly a foot of snow had fallen across the city.
Inside the gates, the courtyard and corridors were already cleared and well maintained. Walkways were open, no sign of salt on the ground and the property felt orderly. It was a small detail but a meaningful one. It reinforced what ownership looks like in Sutton Place. No shoveling. No salting. No dealing with winter conditions at all. That is what we call convenience.
Sutton Place sits in the middle of the Gold Coast, but it operates differently from much of the surrounding neighborhood. It is a fully gated community with 24/7 staffing, creating a sense of separation that is difficult to find in the Gold Coast. Once inside, the pace slows.
From your front door, it is an easy walk to RH Three Arts Café, Oak Street Beach and some of the most established Brownstone streets in Chicago. The area feels settled and architectural in a way that tends to endure. These are streets that age well.
The home itself offers nearly 4,000 square feet, which is rare in this part of the city. That scale allows for comfortable daily living without sacrificing walkability or proximity. There is no need to choose between space and location.
This purchase was not driven by short-term market conditions. It was about securing a long-term position in a location that offers quiet, access, and livability. Those qualities tend to hold value because they are difficult to replicate.
I’m grateful to my client for the trust they placed in me throughout the process, and I’m excited to see them put down roots here. I look forward to watching their continued success and their family grow in the years ahead.
